Rated 2 de 5 de par Mobile work center I use this everyday, I like it, it was just what I was looking for to get my miscellaneous things into the job My problem with it is Dewalt used the cheapest slides they could find, so basically the slides have completely fallen apart now when I open it it basically collapses on its self because the slides have disintegrated. I bought it because I thought Dewalt would make a product for a professional but not the case... and for the record I am the only one who uses it, so it’s not like there is a crew of guys banging it around, just me and when I’m not using it it’s strapped in place in my trailer I just expected a little more from Dewalt for the price

Rated 3 de 5 de par Great idea but NOT for the professional This tool box is way too expensive for the quality. If you only carry about 10 lbs of tools you may be ok but if you carry anything more than that and are planning on using it everyday it will only last a short time. The first thing to go will be the plastic slider arms then the wheels. It does have a lot of storage room and the large storage compartment is a great idea but if you put anything substantial inside it will break. This box is NOT for the professional tech, wish it was stronger because it does have a lot of room to carry the tools you need but does not have the strength to back it up.

Rated 4 de 5 de par It's a band box for us My wife bought it for me to put all my tools in but it got taken over and used in my band. I have mic cables (16 20ft, 3 50ft and a few 25-30), 2 ISO-TEL outlet boxes and gaffe tape in the bottom with still a little room. Middles handled the power cords, extra instrument cables, a few speaker cables for amp to cabs, and a few patch cables. The top holes tools for repairs, 6 10 ft cables, speciality cables like 4 20 ft TRS cables, tape and some odds and ends. It's great to grab one box out of the trailer that has all this. If we need a snake, it's keep on the trailer as we don't use them much. I think it's well worth it for that we use it for as it replaces several other boxes.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Great tool box, versatile, mobile. The FatMax is a great idea for a tool box because the three storage layers open out backwards to access to each layer at once. And the wheels offer easy maneuverability and portability of the three layers of tools. Very handy piece of equipment. However, it is not designed for storing a lot of heavy items. The plastic is not rigid and thick. The design concept is good but it's made for convenience of lighter tools and equipment. I rated the value as fair but would have said good if it had been in the $50 range versus $80. I bought it as a gift because nothing else like it was available. I'm happy with the purchase and so is the gift recipient.

I was really excited to use this as I love the feature of the cantilever. The design is excellent and it is really useful to open it up and have everything easily accessible. Unfortunately, when I was not able to use this at all as the handle broke even before I was able to use it. I am really disappointed. I can't imagine this tool box being sturdy enough for heavy tools. I was shocked that this broke as I had light stuff in it. This is really a great design but it really needs stronger materials. I would definitely pay more for this tool box if the material were of good quality.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Just okay Great for organizing and doing city jobs. Haven't had it long but read one other review about its durability. No problems yet but I can understand why the arms and wheels will wear out with any prolonged professional use. I figured I would be putting stronger wheels on it eventually. The other issue is if it's loaded with tools it's not easy to load and unload from the truck without help. Rigid makes one that is stackable with latches that hold three boxes together. I will be getting that one as well and see how it holds up. Just wish the "engineers" and "designers" at these companies would actually work with some of the things they design before they put them on the market!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Great idea, poor quality. I have purchased a few dozen of these tool boxes for my install crews. They are the perfect size and set up for what my electricians need. Having said that there are issues I've had with every single one of these tool boxes. The plastic on the bottom storage area is extremely thin and very vulnerable to cracking. The handle is very flimsy and is attached to a very fragile plastic bracket. Overview 1. Great idea for a product 2. Very expensive for the quality received 3. Handle, handle mounting bracket, and durability of plastic needs MASSIVE improvement If you plan on using this tool box on any construction site you might as well kick a hole in the side of it at the check out counter so you know what to expect from this product walking up to the job site.

Rated 4 de 5 de par It is good for holding loose tools and small items This tool box works like a tool box should but I purchased it because I believed it was built by De Walt. I later notice the De Walt name on the box was a sticker and found this tool box with other makers names on the same box. This was not the high grade tool box I thought I was buying but a generic box that I probably have found at a lower price with another name on it.

Does it have a draw that is divided for small items?

Posée par: dave
I just got one of these through HomeDepot.com and it didn't have any dividers for the middle compartment. I called Stanley and they told me they were an optional accessory available through servicenet.portercable.com. I can't even find them on the Home Depot web site :(

one place says height is 24.8, another 29. Which is it please. Have a table that the underside is 27" & it needs to fit under that (at least the box). If it is the handle that is 29, but the box is 24.8, that would be OK
Posée par: appendix
The one I have measures 29” in height.

I'm trying to find a great storage system to be used for stage management. Has anyone used it for that or have a better recommendation for that purpose? Thank you in advance!
Posée par: Jay
I use it to transport misc. items for chefs, utensils gloves. condiments, plastic ware, dry goods. it is not suitable for big or heavy items but if you want to divide small items then yes it is.

What is the center front latch for? Does it unlock the sections to expand them?

What is the center front latch for? Does it unlock the sections to expand them?
Posée par: TexES
It's a latch/release so that the 3 sections can expand into a stair-step access arrangement. BTW, I have 2 of these and highly recommend.

Hey I'm 6'2", how comfortable is it for tall guys when rolling? My last one I had to slouch.

Posée par: zay
I'm 6' and had to roll this to my side whenever possible so I wouldn't be bumpy my heels on it while walking. That said it was a pretty handy thing to have. AFter it slipped out of my hand a couple times while rolling, the handle bent and wouldn't go back in, so I had trouble getting the top compartment open. That and one of the wheels went a bit wonky so it wobbles just a bit when rolling. I still have it and use it only for storage of a few things in my garage now instead of carrying it around to work sites. It wasn't nearly as durable as I'd hoped it would be, but that's what I get for buying something with a hollow aluminum handle.

My top part is coming off the rail when I slide it back! Who or where do I take it? I got it on 11/19/2014.

Is it still under warranty?
Posée par: Corky
Take it back to the Home Depot Location you purchased it from.
