All you need to do is charge the battery up at least eight hours before you. It’s slightly with no issue you hold the handle and click the button to use it and it works very well. The blade is very sharp and it allows you to manicure your shrubs or bushes however you want to because of the ease of use and it’s very lightweight. I was able to use it while on a ladder by myself with no assistance. I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Fantastic light and powerful trimmer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Best hedge trimmer used to date. Surprisingly powerful for a battery operated model. Cut thick ornamental grass (dried from last years growth) easily. Ran it for several hours on the included 6A battery and still had 1/2 charge. The extended cutting bar made easy work of bushes around the porch. The newly designed safety switch is innovative and easily adopted. Well balanced and much lighter than comparable gas models. The newly designed power charger is a good upgrade as well (half the size). Cons: additional batteries could be a cost concern for landscapers but if you have other DeWalt tools it’s a no brainer. For homeowners it’s a no brainer.

It’s light weight compared to a gas powered one but there’s no compromise on power it is definitely a work horse. It was a soft start when you first hit the trigger and a safety handle that has to be engaged in order to run it which is really nice. It has nice sharp blades and doesn’t have any bulky brush sweeps which is nice. It gets into tight spots and under cuts pampas grass with ease. It’s ready to go right out of the box

With the 60V flex battery, it has plenty of power and runs for quite a while without a recharge. The blade is a perfect length and makes trimming the hedges really easy. I’ve always had a corded version but never again. Best part is, with flexvolt, you can use your 20V batteries as well. You can even use the same charger, which is great because I don’t need another charger to keep up with.

Once I tried a battery-operated one and was so disappointed that I shied away from cordless for years. Then this model came along and with the 60v power pack and brand name, I figured it was time to try again. I am very pleased with the performance. It is not as light as I had hoped but everything else is spot on. The teeth have 24" of cutting edge and it is powerful enough to plow through small branches and stems. The safety switch is great. You have to hold the hoop handle with one hand and the other has to push up a small lever then after all of that you can pull the trigger and cut things. The kit has a removable battery and quick charger. It also has a cover for the blades. I would really have liked a hard case but it is not a serious shortage.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Cuts through branches like a breeze. The tool is not too heavy, easy to manage and rotate to cut along the side of hedges. I cannot not compare it to the 20v version of the tool but given the amount and size of hedges I have I opted for the extra power. The included battery is the lowest capacity flexvolt battery in the currently lineup but gets the job done, plus it works with my Dewalt 20v tools.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worked just fine for us. Little heavy for my wife. Only about 20 minutes of steady trimming life in battery however. This is based on 10 uses over the 60 days of ownership. Loved not dragging a cord around, making it portable and faster than our corded unit.

Having trouble charging battery its down to 1 bar but plug it into the charger and it blinks a couple of times and stops. The charger is kinda dinky for a large battery.

Which is correct? It states in one description that it includes dcb606 which is a 6ah battery and then in the specs it states 2ah included.

Can this trimmer be sharpened when it becomes dull?

The cutting blades are made from high quality, hardened steel and with normal usage, they will not require resharpening. However, if you accidentally hit a wire fence, stones, glass, or other hard objects, you may put a nick in the blade. There is no need to remove this nick as long as it does not interfere with the movement of the blade
