I purchased two Feit Electric 60-watt daylight (5000K) dusk to dawn light bulbs for installation in the light fixtures on both sides of my garage door. Before installing, I removed the old programmable screw-in light controls and cleaned the two outdoor light fixtures. I installed the Feit Electric dusk to dawn light bulbs. The product instructions, consisting of 21 words, are printed on the side of the box. About one hour after sunset, I checked the lights and the bulbs were on. The next morning, about 1 hour after sunrise, I checks the lights and the bulbs were off. The Feit Electric dusk to dawn light bulbs are fit for their purpose, they conform to the product description, they are simple to install and their cost is reasonable. I am satisfied with the Feit Electric dusk to dawn light bulbs.

This is a very easy way to achieve on-at-dusk off-at dawn, just be screwing in a new bulb. It is a rather expensive light bulb, but so are independent light sensitive switches.It works well. The light sensor on these bulbs may be less durable than the LED bulb function, if my limited experience corresponds with typical results. But Feit will replace a defective unit with very little red tape, so I still recommend it highly.

Bought five of these bulbs. one stopped working within a month. Two had no problem going on at dusk, but would stay on all day. One would flicker like a strobe light before finally going on, Last one would go on and off as it should, but randomly "blink" all night long. I've used these bulbs in direct sunlight and in porches. I've also made sure the sensor faced the light. I'm just not impressed with this product.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Flashes all night! I'm very disappointed in this dusk to dawn light bulb. My mom was gone for the month of February so I installed this lightbulb to have peace of mind that her home still looked occupied. I even asked a neighbor if it was coming on at night and she said it was. Perfect! Until........ My mom is now home and told me the light does come on at dusk for about 30 seconds and then goes off and then comes back on. It does this the entire night! HOW is this a good feature? I made sure the sensor faced the light and saw no other adjustment features on the bulb. Did I miss something? Here I thought my mom's house was safer because of this light, but turns out it wasn't at all.

Saves the cost of having to install a photocell switch or fixture. Win, win, win!

I'm just too busy to remember to turn off the porch light and then to turn it on again at night. This solves that problem for me. It's brighter than my old light bulb and comes on just as it gets dark. Since the way it's in the socket allows the sensor to be inside toward the wall, it comes on a bit before actual dusk but that means it also stays on a little past dawn. I don't have to think about it. I just turn it on and it takes care of itself and that back porch that's in absolute shade at night is now brightly lit and I feel more secure knowing there won't be a time when I forgot to turn it on!

Maybe it's just me but try as hard as I could I have not been able to align the sensor to the front of the lamp. Is there a trick to doing that?

Works BUT, is not as bright as expected and the light sensor is less sensitive than expected. I installed three and only one works well. The other two are located where they are shaded from sun light and only shut off with bright, no clouds sunlight. They will be fine if not shaded from sunlight.

Has anyone experienced flickering with these bulbs? I’ve tried two different bulbs (same product) and both of them flicker like a strobe light...very annoying especially to our neighbors. The lantern I put them in has a motion sensor. Could that be causing this issue?

Yes! I installed this lightbulb at my mom's house as she was gone for the month of February. I had asked a neighbor if it worked since I wasn't there at night and she said it was on at night. My mom is now back home and said the light will come on at dusk for about 30 seconds and then goes off and then comes back on. It will do this for the entire night! What's the point of that??? So disappointed and it's too late to return. What a waste of money and my time.

Thank you for your question, frosted or decorative glass may cause delays and or interfere with the sensors ability to detect sunlight or the absence of sunlight. If using in a fixture with frosted glass it is recommended that the fixture be located where it does not receive any shade thru out the day.

I don't see why not. As long as it's not too dark. I know my bulb in the darker section of my entry stays on a bit later into the morning because of the shading, but it eventually turns off when the light hits that area.

Do LEDs have a delay for the bulb to come on once the sensor is covered? I was concerned that the bulb was not functioning correctly because of experience with incandescent sensors that allow the bulb to come on immediately once it is covered. Can other owners please share the on and off times? Thanks

Yes, but it may be affected by glass if sun light has to pass through the glass to reach the sensor. I have one fixture with textured glass that causes it to not turn off unless it has direct sunlight. AND, a note on adjusting the base to get sunlight to the sensor. The base actually spins about 1/2 turn on the bulb. It may be a little tight at first but persevere with it in your hands through it's full range to loosen it up a little; then turn it counterclockwise fully before inserting it in the socket. Then you can turn it until it comes on and then keep turning it clockwise to adjust it so the sensor gets sunlight.
