Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This underlayment worked out perfectly, it is all inclusive just to lay down on the floor while I finish a flooring job that I started in May. It is the same thickness as the other underlayment we purchased but we need more tiles and flooring so they came in and we finish the installation. It cut very easily so when we needed to do the corners it worked out perfectly. It didn’t come with the tape and all we needed was about 2 feet of it, so we use the blue painters tape and it worked just as well one package covers 100 ft.² we only needed 85.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent underlayment for my floating vinyl plank flooring. The flooring manufacturer does not require underlayment, however the condo association does. It is only 1.5mm thick, cuts easily and lays flat. It is very well marked for ease in measuring and straight cutting. It is thick enough to hide imperfections on my concrete subflooring and provides a great vapor barrier and soundproofing. It provides just enough cushioning for comfort when walking on the plank flooring without compressing and causing the flooring to shift, separate or crack the tongue and groove edges. 5 Stars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I had experience with “sold in rolls” underlayments from other producers. QuicPrep surely have certain advantageous. It does not bend when you put it on the floor. It has square patterns through the whole length, which is good to have to make straight cuts. The latter may help also with directing laminate or other planks and see if with tapping you sift from one side or another (very important in the beginning of the way). Top layer is smooth and filmy (this layer will provide resistance to water), while the other side is spongy. Thickness is only ~1.5 mm. Good product. Recommend to try!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quicprep's 'universal' underlayment is an innovative take on foam flooring underlayment. The two big innovations are that the product accordion-folds flat, and it is marked with a layout grid. Both of these features are actually great. Unlike rolls of underlayment, it's simple to put in place without having someone stand on one end (or, worse, stacking heavy objects to keep one end from moving while you roll it out). The mark-out grid is fantastic - you can make perfect cuts with household scissors. Why do I give it 4 stars instead of 5? Well, it is just thin extruded polystyrene. For 2nd-floor installations, there are quieter underlayments you can use (even if they are more difficult to install).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My friend gave me 50 sq feet, left over from a job a few weeks ago but I needed another 80 sq feet for another small bathroom job. The apartment has a lot of LVT tile squares from the 1960s, much of which are still very strong and I didn't want to remove it since it may contain asbestos. On one job, I installed vinyl and on the other job I installed tile. I was a little iffy on how it would hold tile, since I'm just used to tile going on concrete or concrete board. Time will tell, but it gives me a great option.

Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This underlayment is nothing like I expected. Fifteen years ago my husband and I installed laminate flooring in three large rooms. The underlayment available at the time was made of a thin blue flexible pressed foam-like material. .QuicPrep Premium Underlayment is stiff. It says it's made of durable 1.5 mm thick high density XPS foam but there is no give to it at all. It looks to be extremely easy to install with a printed grid on each sheet. You will need to purchase underlayment tapee separately. The one thing .QuicPrep Premium Underlayment offers that the other underlayment did not is that it acts as a moisture barrier. Trust me, that is worth it's weight in gold! Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Basically, this is a sheet of thin Styrofoam. It's very easy to cut with knife or scissors (See video). Unfortunately that also means it's very easy to tear. I had some issues with that when installing it around some woodwork. It was cut great but when it touched the woodwork I was cutting around, it tore at a corner of where I cut. I was able to get some tape on the underside before I laid the vinyl planks so I think I'll be okay. It's very light weight which is a nice change of pace from carrying those planks around. It's a good product and if you take your time, plan your work and be careful with your cuts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm installing some wood laminate and the QuicPrep underlayment is perfect for the project I'm doing in my basement. It comes with a moisture barrier so it's perfect for areas that require it and eliminates the need for buying and installing a separate moisture barrier. It comes in a 100sf box and just unfolds and can be cut easily to size. It works with all floating floors and provides good sound reduction. I definitely recommend it for professionals and homeowners alike for it's quality and ease of installation.

Is this necessary under vinyl plank?

Posée par: Kasi
Thank you for your question. LifeProof universal underlayment is not required but can be used when you want additional moisture, sound, thermal benefits along with smoothing of minor sub-floor imperfections.

Is the QuicPrep stapled to the subfloor or is it put down floating?

Is the QuicPrep stapled to the subfloor or is it put down floating?
Posée par: MarkT
It could be stapled to a wooden subfloor if you felt that is necessary, but it stays in place fairly well without staples and just taping the butted seams together. They recommend underlayment tape, but I found Frog tape works fine.

R value

What is the R Value of this product?
Posée par: Drew
Thank you for this excellent question! This product is a great “thermal break” in the winter and “insulation” in the summer for QuicTile, LifeProof LVP and laminate. It has an R-Value of 6.6 per inch which is .39 at 1.5mm.

Is this recommended for carpet tiles?

Posée par: Jb
Jb, this product was not designed for carpet squares. It was designed for use with ridgid floating floors. There is nothing on the carton about using it with carpet. You may want to check with the manufacturer of your carpet squares. My personal feeling is that it would not be satisfactory for carpet tiles-and even if the carpet backing sticks to the underlayment- if you lift one you will lift the underlayment with it- again the QuicPret is designed for rigid flooring. I am also not sure what you gain by using this under carpet.- you can get carpet with padding and moisture resistance. QuickPrep does not recommend it for carpet squares. .
