Rated 5 de 5 de par Great tool for fast removal This sander is great. It removes material very easily and vary fast. I had used this sander before purchasing and had great results, so I bought it. My only concern is that there is a little non-adjustable pin that keeps the wheel locked in its position as it rotates. Mine seems to be a little loose, so the sander makes a small humming noise that the previous sander I used did not make. I think quality control may have let one slip by!

The tip is fully useable, the tool is well balanced, weight is easy to handle for hours on end, noise is medium. The handle seemed odd at first but quickly made sense. It kicks up a tremendous amount of dust and I have not tried the vacuum attachment, I did build a sanding booth. Changing belts is super easy and the belts last longer than I expected. It’s super tool for working a curved surface. I’ve used it about a month for 40-50 hours.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Belt Sander Are company and gone threw several of these off brand sanders , and now finally have one that is lasting and a good value. Wish we would of chosen this one a couple of years ago , we would of saved hundreds of dollars.

Each of the Carpenters has one on their tool cart and there is one sander in every one of the storage cabinets at the work islands. It is very handy for a wide range of uses where detail work is required such as, scribing and shaping cabinets an counters and oddly shaped projects where good workmanship is a must. The sander definitely saves us a lot of time and effort as well as improves the final result of our finished products.

Was refinishing my 14' x 50' deck, for which I always use oil-based opaque stain. Last 3+ times longer than water-based stains, but requires that sanding down to bare wood each time I refinish it in order for the new oil-based stain to be absorbed and stick. Bought this little belt sander to get into tight spots on stairs under and around railings, which I couldn't reach with my Makita multi-tool/detail sander. The sander worked very well and the belt tracked perfectly even when moving side to side. I removed the front handle in my application, so cannot say how that works, but it is very sturdy. I was able to sand flush up to the edge on the right side, but due to the motor housing and a flange for the front handle attachment that sticks out about a 1/2", I had to get creative when I needed to use the left side. Sander if very light and easy to control without the front handle, so slipping and gouging wood wasn't an issue. Although I'm sure the front handle might come in handy for places where precision is needed, I'm not convinced it's worth giving up flush sanding on the left side of sander. I sanded for about 2 hours straight first time out with it. I can't speak for longevity beyond this use. I was a little concerned when I first turned it on. The motor didn't sound very robust, but proved to be stout enough for my application. Took off decades worth of stain without any problem. I managed to use only 1 of the 60 grit belts to do what I needed (had to sand about 3" at one end of each of the 15 steps). I was expecting to need to replace the belt at least once or twice during that work. Although the grit was worn out by the time I finished, the belt fabric itself was still very stout, so the supplied belts seem to be of good quality. Given it comes with 8 belts of different grits and I only used 1 belt, I can't say how easy or difficult it is to find replacement belts of the same quality. Loudness is about the same as my multi-tool/sander...can get away without hearing protection, but I used it anyway since I was sanding for long periods at a stretch. I don't really have any complaints. Only suggestions for improvement would be to remove flange for handle on left side so I could sand flush on that side, and maybe provide a case for it.

the way the sander looks if this were sanding a floor would you be able to sand all the way to a wall ?

Posée par: 1234
Hi 1234, As long as the base mouldings and room transition strips that are in direct contact with the floor are first removed...then yes you can use this sander. I'd only advise you to purchase this belt sander if you plan to refinish floors and/or do furniture for a living. Your local Home Depot that has a Tool Rental Center has floor sanding edgers at a fraction of a cost of this one. Best of all, you aren't stuck with a machine that you may not use all the time. However, if you are in the market for purchasing a belt sander, this is one of the smallest widths available and it is suitable for floor sanding. Joseph

I have a Bosch 35 mm to 1 1/4 inch adapter for my RIDGID vacuum. Will this fit the sander’s dust extraction port?

Posée par: Boatbuilder
The Makita 3/4 inch x 10 ft vacuum hose’s (Part number 192108-A) suction end slides right into the dust extraction port without any issue with the spring loaded cap. The other end will take the RIDGID 11/4 vacuum adapter. Mind you Makita told me they didn’t know what hose of theirs or anyone else’s would fit. But another owner told me that the ID of the extraction port was around one inch and another non-Makita source told me that the OD of the suction end of the hose was one inch. So I put two and two together and fortunately two and two did go together with a perfect fit! Dust extraction is very important for all my sanding tools since I’m restoring a fiberglass sailboat.
