It is well constructed and is heavy duty all around. It does take two guys to get off or on the scaffold but it is secure and will protect one from an accidental fall. I also purchased the MetalTech scaffold which is very easily assembled, everything simply snaps into place. It is also strong sturdy and comfortable to work off of. With it's big wheels it is easily moved over uneven surfaces. For the price this is a good choice for a professional or DIY'er. Next years Christmas lights should be a breeze.

After putting together my scaffolding, I quickly realized that it could be really dangerous to be working up there without a guardrail system. I purchased this to work with a portable scaffold from HF (Item #63050). The HF scaffolding seemed to be the same dimensions as the MetalTech, so I took a chance that this would work, and it did. This product went together well and although the sides are bolted, I didn't find them to be unstable. With everything installed, the guardrail system does shift back and forth, which gives the illusion of it being unstable. I solved this by cutting large pieces of flat industrial rubber and wedging it into the post holes after everything was assembled. That made a huge difference in perceived stability. Pictures attached. The gate is a neat feature and my system is definitely a lot safer now.

First I purchased a Franklin Heavy Duty Portable Scaffolding. I quickly realized that a guardrail system would be a wise investment. Not only was the MetalTech guardrail easy to assemble, but it also fit the Franklin Scaffolding...perfectly! It's sturdy, well affixed to the scaffold and the gates open easily on each end. And the Home Depot offered curbside pickup which made it very easy. The guardrail is definitely far less expensive than a trip to the ER!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great safety measure for any DIY job or business [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an avid DIY person I’m happy to have this in my stockpile of equipment. I’ve seen so many people on ladders falling and getting hurt and I was not going to be added to that count. I recently bought scaffolding and it’s really sketchy being up there with no safety measures, so these rails were everything to me. I was doing a lot of ceiling drywall and electrical and being able to focus on what I needed to do without the worry of falling was great. I could also hook tools on the rail and grab them as needed. They’re super light weight and just hook right onto the scaffolding.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Worth it for safety, but a real pain I got this bc my MetalTech scaffold is very shakey and unstable on the highest level. I need it. I’m glad have it, but I hate it. Took me over an hour to install it bc of imprecise machining and ridiculous design. Holes dont match up, can’t turn the nut more than a tenth of a turn bc of placement, and it’s completely wobbly once installed. Go ahead and get it—it’s the only option. Just prepare yourself for frustration.

Will this product work on the Werner SRS72 scaffold?

Will this product work on the Werner SRS72 scaffold?
Posée par: Doc
Just purchased because two people answered this was compatible. It does not fit the SRS72 and lock the same as the Werner rails, which are currently unavailable through Home Depot. I can make them work, but not as intended, and certainly not as secure. My answer is no, they are not compatible.

is this 2 complete units? it says set of 2?

Posée par: Debmi
it is two halves....    the assembly is made of two identical halves  ( a side + and end ).

Does this guardrail system come as four separate sides that are then joined together? Can it be used with three sides?

Posée par: Jerry
The only way to have three sides, is to leave one end gate open. No way to just have both ends and only one side railing. The guard rails, after assembling the joined panels, are in two sections . . . . each section is one side with a hinged end gate. Both side/gates need to be installed with gates latched closed to provide optimum railing support. If only one side is used, the side force protection may not be enough to prevent the rail from bending at the two bottom connection, since the gates, latched in the closed position provide the structural support for the sides. Can't say if only using one side it would hold for other than minor force against it. Might be OK for just helping to keep your balance.

What are the dimensions for the Guardrail still in the packaging? Need to know if it will fit in my vehicle.

Posée par: ReverendPenguin2021
When it is in the box it fits well in a Honda Pilot with the seats folded down.

Yes, I used it on my Franklin Scaffold. You need to shim the post holes firm up. I used wooden wedges.

Will the Metal Tech guardrail fit on the werner scaffold That I just purchased fro Home Depot
Posée par: Chief
Most likely, yes. All Baker scaffolding is built to the same dimensions, with only minor variations in design. I know it'll fit Home Depot's Pro line as well as the stuff that HF sells.

Gate blocks trap door from opening?

I just assembled this on a second level Metaltech scaffold. Now the “trap door” cannot open because of the side gate sitting over it. I can’t believe this is supposed to work like this. Did I do something wrong?
Posée par: Reven
I have the trap door deck on a single level scaffold and the safety rail set. It works perfectly. I think it is difficult or impossible to put the safety rail on wrong if the gates close and latch. Check the gate alignment and the toe kicks wrap to the inside. I suspect you may not have the deck aligned properly.
