Works okay once you get the hang of it, since it's designed for up 24" tiles there's some flex in the mechanism making the scoring of 12" tile in the middle of the guide tricky. Trimming edges with < 1-1/2" is a bear and after being successful only once in 5 tries I've stopped trying. This will cost me in extra tiles but still I'm satisfied with the cutter, it allows me to work at my own pace, ( rental 24" wet saw was $90/day). The 12"x 24" ceramic tile I'm using is textured so several cutting passes are necessary. It's been a learning experience but I'm happy with the progress I'm making.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Dont Understand The Hate ? Ok seriously all recent bad reviews are clearly from people who never really tiled before or never used a manual tile cutter. So far hasnt let me down, it scores, it snaps hard porcelain tiles which id typically wet saw. Its not perfect, the guide you attach is flimsy really useless but it does exactly what its meant to do, aside from that its worth its money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Professional Slimline Tile cutter will cut almost everything. I love this tool. I have missing tile and found a match to cut and replace. This diamond cutter did everything it was suppose to do. Cut a clean straight line and made the job so much easier. I had 24 in. tile to cut and couldn't find a cutter but this tool is fantastic. It slides smoothly and cuts accurately. Also includes a replaceable titanium tungsten carbide cutting wheel. Very sturdy, strong, extension legs on each side, and a very comfortable hand grip. Love this tool, highly recommend. This will make the job so much faster and easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of those tools that takes a little skill to use well. There is a bit of art with scoring a tile and then getting a clean break. This is not a saw or a shear so the separation depends on the properties of the tile itself. Some tiles will separate perfectly with a light touch and some require a bit more depth. Some will break in the wrong place. Basically, "cutting" a tile is not an exact science, but this tool is definitely a professional approach and will give you the best chance of getting things done right.

After some research I decided to invest in a tile cutter. With many options I chose this one for the price and for the size (24") plus the ability to cut thicker tile. It was my first time using a tile cutter and it was clean, easy, and made nice clean cuts. I used junk tile to practice on first (highly recommend) before cutting your actual tile. That's only because it was my first time and unfamiliar with how it functions. Bottom line....great product, great price, sturdy construction, easy to store.

It will snap large tiles as long as you are not tying to cut off pcs smaller than 3 inches, which is pretty common for most snap cutters. I use my diamond wheel grinder for those. The fold out tile supports are well above average. Size and weight is great compared to my Brutus. The bad thing, trying to line the tile up for a perfect scoring on your mark is awful. It needs a redesign for better line of sight to hit your mark on the tile. I went back to using my Brutus, which has a much more unobstructed view for precisely hitting your mark.

I bought a QEP small wet tile saw for my last project, which was only like 20sq feet, and that thing was slow going, but got the job done. This however, I used on a much larger project, and WOW! Paid for itself completely. I used it over the course of 3 days, and this saved me at least 100 trips going up and down stairs to get to the noisy wet tile saw outside! You score and snap, it couldn't be easier. Use light pressure, it doesn't take much. My baby even napped on the other side of the wall throughout the project. No crazy noise, just simple score and pop! I would recommend this to ANYONE doing tile. I've only done two tile projects in my entire DIY life, but I wouldn't be afraid to tackle another with this in my tool kit. I had to rip a couple lengths of 1" or less, and this was a bit tricky, and I did break a couple tiles in this process, which is frusterating, but... Its a cut of 0.75" on a 24" long tile. I probably should have used the tile saw for those anyway. But all my other cuts were cake! Also, I still had to use the tile saw to cut a round hole for a toilet, as this couldn't do that.

What is the smallest size will it cut off

Posée par: CJEJ
The scoring wheel will probably score as narrow as 1/2 or even 1/4 inch. The problem you will have with something that narrow is getting the breaker to be able to snap the two pieces apart. I think you could safely score an inch and snap it apart using the breaker foot, Usually when I need to cut tile that small I use a wet saw. If you don't have a wet saw you can always rent one by the hour or day. Good luck!

The style of tile does not really matter. This tool will score a 24" length of tile and allow you to "snap" it cleanly ... so the answer to your question is probably ... yes.

Will this cut beveled tiles

Posée par: Jose
This tool does not actually cut the tiles. It scores them so they are easily "broken" along a straight line. Therefore, the beveling that you are looking for can only be achieved by taking a grinding wheel after the tile is sized and carefully and artistically making the change. It will take some practice and you will break tiles before you get it right. Remember to use gloves, ear and eye protection.
