I had tried using a "budget" flaring tool from Princess Auto but the double flares turned out wonky. After a refund at PA I grabbed the Ridgid tool at Home Depot, only to discover upon using it, that it does not come with dies. A quick trip to the local Napa for a 3/16" die and I was in business. Good news is, the tool worked great but the fact that it did not come with even a single die was disappointing.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent This is the first time I have attempted flaring copper tubing for NG and was successful on the first attempt No issues adjusting the tool and exerting the torque to flare the copper tube mouth without the tube sliding out of position..a common complaint with other inexpensive tools

Rated 3 de 5 de par Failure of threads.. I bought this flaring tool a few years ago hoping it would be a quality unit which would last me a lifetime. I do not use the tool that often and today, while flaring a 3/16 brake line, the threads in the main body of the unit gave way and failed completely. Obviously, there is an issue in the metallurgy of the casting. I should add that the tool was well lubed, used sparingly and was never used to flare anything bigger than 3/8 fuel line.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Double flare This can’t do a 3/16 double flare on a common brake line, no matter what I try the tubing always slips thru the tool & you cannot double flare. The hole for the 3/16 is smooth ( no ridges inside). Terrible design.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice and easy to use. This makes very nice flares on aluminum and Ni-Copp tubing. You will need to have a nice clean cut and deburr the tubing to achieve this. I have not tried this in steel or stainless steel. I would recommend adding to your toolbox. I also purchased the Ridgid 377 for 37 degree flares.

What are the numbers (...14...15...16) on the bloc ? These look like metric dimensions.

Under Ordering Information there are several line items listed. There is a bare tool without the cutter, and there is a kit with the tube cutter as line item 33927 345DL/150

No, we do not. The biggest is 1/2" od.

Is the clamp double sided? One dude has the conical recess the other does not, but both sides have the tubing diameter stamped in them, I also noticed on the rigid tool page the 360 view shoes the flaring clamp mounted to the flat side? Please advise.

Only one side should have the bevel and the size notations.
