Rated 2 de 5 de par When it works, it works great... But when it doesn't .. I have had my ring video doorbell for 30 days. I can say it does what it claims to do but not always. Sometimes- When the doorbell rings and I get a notification I hit "accept" on my phone and it just loads forever with out connecting. Another example is that I go back to look at recording history, in try to play back a video and nothing shows up expect for sound. The Video shows up as a black background. It's not my internet connection bc I looked at the speeds (upload and down load) speeds and I am well above the recommended connection requirements. I called customer service and they were not able to help me. Great concept but it still needs work.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Good but not great First, nobody tells you that you will have to pay $3.00 per month to record the history (that is $36 on 12 months). if you don't subscribe to it, it will not keep the history (you will only be able to see live). This bring me to the second reason (that is not that good) sometimes it takes a couple of minutes or more to appear on my iphone, when I open the app on my phone the person is already gone (very slow) and if I don't subscribe (pay the $3 per month) I can't see who it was (because it will not save the history. Nobody tells you about the $3 per month fee to keep and see the history so if you miss the ring you will never know who it was..

Rated 5 de 5 de par Well designed & very well built wireless doorbell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice new Ring Video doorbell and it's wireless too. This has a built in camera with 160 degree night vision capability. Everything is motion activated and images are stored in the "Cloud" in case "porch bandits" (as they were referred to on tonight's news) decide to help themselves. Runs off of my WiFi service. My WiFi system was too far away so I had to install the WiFi extender, and I am also installing the optional door bell ring chime due to my home's configuration. This system is extremely well designed & thought out. Also great that all of the necessary tools and parts were included. I also charged my unit overnight with the included USB cord.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Was very easy to setup. Installed it on my home computer with win 10. I can use from home to see ... Was very easy to setup. Installed it on my home computer with win 10. I can use from home to see who is there and respond to the door bell. Easy to configure the motion detector and adjust the sensitivity. The video is adequate to identify individuals easily, the fish eye lens causes some distortion, but it gives full view of front yard. I had some trouble configuring my wife's iPhone. I have a windows phone so I screwed up the iPhone configuration. I called their tech support. They answered within 20 seconds. The technical support center is the best support that I have ever worked with. I have been a Certified Microsoft Engineer and Instructor since 1995. I speak as a professional when I say their support is excellent.

Rated 1 de 5 de par RIng motion detector is terrible & only works from 2 ft away If this product was just a video doorbell & was not being advertised for its motion detector capabilities, I would have rated it higher. But, I purchased it mainly for that capability. When it was set to detect 30 ft out, it would only pick up trucks that went by at 40 ft out. When I changed the setting to 20 ft, then 10, then 5 it wouldn't pick up human beings/a 200lb man. It would only pick up a human being who hadn't rung the doorbell if he was at 2 ft away or closer. I chatted with Ring customer serv to troubleshhot, I talked with them on the phone to troubleshoot & nothing worked. It's not worth the price in my opinion. So, I'm returning it TODAY.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Peace of mind [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ring Wireless Video Doorbell works well so far. Installation was easy. I took out the old doorbell, put the new one in. Downloaded the app onto my smart phone, then within a few minutes the doorbell is connected with my wifi network. With the doorbell I can see what's going on outside my front door. That's the peace mind I enjoy greatly because I have young kids at home. My wife really likes the new doorbell because she orders a lot online, now she can tell the delivery guy to leave the package at the front without going all the way to greet him. I would strongly recommend this product.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Great idea, but disappointed in usage Thought this was a great idea and had hopes to add it to our home, but very disappointed. Motion detector slow to report movement and watching people leave adds nothing as a security feature. Sound also issues and many false reports every with the range set at 5 ft, pasting cars (40 ft away) set it off. Doesn't work well at all on a PC with Windows 10, doesn't work at all on my Kindle or smart TWV with android and barely on my iPhone 5s. Doesn't work with wireless chimes, can barely hear it on the PC and not much better with Rings own chime (at additional cost). poor Instructions include and on their website Return it and their chime within a week.

Took me 30 mins to install. i have a hard wire doorbell which sits on top of vinyl siding. I love the very high end looking rubbed bronze look. Goes with every color and matches my door handle. Great step by step instructions which can all be view by the app. The app handles all of the setup. I get alerts every time there is motion in front of the door. You can set your sensitivity range in case you live close to a street and you dont want cars setting this off. Once someone rings the door bell you can easily from your phone select to answer or decline the call. Has 2 way talk and one way video. With the cloud you can record and save videos.

How often does it need recharged and do I have to unscrew it from the house each time r maybe there's a plate it attachs

There is a base plate that attaches to the surface for mounting. The two security screws in the bottom of the device lock it in place and need to be unscrewed each time you need to remove it for charging. I did invest in the solar base for the doorbell and it was a miserable fail that had so many flaws that I spent a month with customer service just to return it (now the product is on hold since they realized my issue was truth to a severely defective solar charger and will not be released again until late 2018 last time I checked)...so there is no solar charger option at this time nor would I recommend it. That said, the amount of usage will ultimately determine battery life but I would say you should get a month out of it before recharging it overnight which is the ideal time to do so. If you have an existing doorbell that meets the voltage specs of this for a wired install, you can certainly hardwire it by replacing your existing doorbell...I recommend downloading the manual and reading the specs to verify its compatibility/voltage requirements for the hardwire install. Other options would be to get a Video Doorbell 2 that has a battery that is easily removable and/or replaced without buying a new device...the removable battery can be recharged overnight and if you wish, a second battery can be purchased to alternate charge cycles. Can it save video on a local hard drive also connected to home network instead of the cloud service?

Once the video is recorded to the cloud service you can download a copy to keep locally, but I don't believe that there is a way to save the video directly to a local network drive from the Ring.

Can you mount wireless video doorbell on brick?

I currently live in a brick home there are no easy places to drill for the mount plate. Any suggestions?

Yes, The ring device has a back plate with four screw holes. You can pre drill the holes and use masonry /concrete screws to attach. You will have to be careful as to not damage the brick while drilling. Another possibility is to use a cleaning solvent to clean the brick extremely well. Make sure all of the solvent is then cleaned off. You can purchase 3M VHB tape. This is a Very High Bond (VHB) double sided foam tape that is rated for 30lbs indoor and outdoor. Hope this helps! I think you meant iPhone 6 and the answer would be yes. It worked on mine. If you really meant iPhone 9 I could tell you but the time police would be angry with me giving out info about 4 years in the future. :)

Yes it will. I hardwired mine to my existing chime in the house and it works great. Just follow the instructions. Pretty easy.
