Rated 3 de 5 de par I have been able install and setup the Ring Video Doorbell Elite with 3 Chime devices and the Rin... I have been able install and setup the Ring Video Doorbell Elite with 3 Chime devices and the Ring Access Controller Pro-Ethernet with my iPhone and works with my security gate. However, the apps availability to run on the Windows platform is thin. The app that will run on Windows 10+ does not currently connect to the Ring Access Controller Pro. So while I can see what is at the gate and get the alerts on my laptop... I cannot open the gate with that laptop. I have to then access the system via my iPhone. I am still looking to see if I can find an app that will work with my Windows 10 laptop as it was intended to be setup permanently in my kitchen.

The Ring Video Doorbell Elite is so convenient to use via our smartphones, tablets or PC. The downloadable Ring app is free which allows you to see, hear and speak to people through the device. The camera is 1080 HD providing a clear picture and the IR night vision allows motion detection within the set motion zone. I like the sleek styling which is important aesthetically and my husband had no problem installing it. The convenience and security that this has provided us is well worth the price. I highly recommend!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Really Good! This has been one of the best and most useful purchases I made for my home! It’s easy to get set up and makes me feel safer and more secure in my home. I’m able to log into the app at any time with no problems and be able to check on my house. Whenever someone is approaching, I hear a loud chime go throughout the home. The only reason I took off one star is because i believe the sensor is pretty sensitive. My house sits on a hill and the chime goes off everytime a car just passes, which is more inconvenient but I still would rather be safe than sorry. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and really do think everyone should have one. A great product overall!

You get to the door and ring the bell and people inside the house will hear it (if they get the ringer device), but also they will receive notification at their phones. A smart doorbell! You can even record interactions from your mailer or delivery guy. If someone comes home you can answer them from you phone and tell them to wait for you or go away. It’s a very convenient way of managing visits and even watching for package bandits. There’s a lot of videos on YouTube showing how this doorbells caught people stealing packages. This is a very useful device that any modern home should have. It saves a lot of guessing and offer some sense of protection.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The first Ring Elite I bought did not work. I... The first Ring Elite I bought did not work. I thought maybe I installed it wrong. Then I noticed the it was broken where the doorbell wire hooks in. Apparently that part is very flimsy and broke off when I went to screw in the camera. The replacement worked perfectly. I don’t think it requires “expert” installation. Just hook up a switch to run the Ethernet cable. Removed some molding from around the door to run the wire. Find a good location to cut the hole. I put it in the door casing. Knowing the camera will be exposed to all kinds of weather I purchased the protection plan.

We used it all the time pre-pandemic (checking to see if the cat sitter was coming and going as scheduled while we were away on vacation for example) but even being home all the time now I still find myself relying on it to see why there is motion or someone at the door. I like having the option to go back and view what happened earlier in the day but that does require a yearly subscription. Which is the down side. I also haven’t had any luck pairing their lights with the doorbell sensor going off.

Why does this have wireless? Dont tell me its only using poe for power.

I don't think the answer from Ring appropriately answers this question. Wifi is present on this device if you are unable to run the ethernet cable to where your networking equipment is. They provide a PoE injector in the box with 2 lengths of ethernet cable. You have 3 connection options with this: 1. Use the PoE injector only for power, then connect the doorbell to your wireless network for data. 2. Use the PoE injector for power and data by connecting one cable to your doorbell and one to switch/router. Wifi will not be used. 3. If you have a router or switch that provides PoE, you can just connect directly to it and not use the PoE injector. This will give you power and data over one line. Wifi will not be used. Hope that helps!

Does the elite model come with a doorbell? I dont have an existing doorbell so I would need it. If doesnt why would you call it a door bell?

Is this Ring Elite doorbell ONVIF compliant, the standard in the security video industry, so it will communicate with most Network Video Recorders or PC video recording software? Or are you only allowing access via your "cloud" servers so you can charge monthly fees?

Ring Elite faceplate dimensions 2 3/4 x 4 3/4 - recommend cutting out a larger piece of wood to cover the larger existing opening with a cut out for the new ring camera.
