Rated 5 de 5 de par Such a consistent and reliable product!! There is nothing about this product that is not great! We have been working on building our school bus for the last 2 years and every time I buy a package of Roxul to install I look forward to the project. With tools as simple as a tape measure and a drywall knife or scissors you are on your way to a professional install. The only downside of this product is the fact people don't know what it is! I had a older man stop me in the parking lot of our local hardware store and explain that carrying a bag of Roxul insulation was going to make me itchy and miserable. I proceeded to correct him and explain how this product is the next generation of insulation products!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Safe N Sound is Awesome! My boyfriend and I were remodeling the attic space in our 1950s home. The old insulation was gross and we were finishing the attic to be more useful. We loved the quality of Roxul as we had used the safe and sound previously. Knowing we needed a higher R rating, we chose ComfortBatt as our preferred insulation. It is SO MUCH EASIER and less messy than the pink rolled stuff! We knew we had to make a lot of cuts, since our joists were not 16 on center, and the serrated bread knife is the perfect tool. Would totally recommend this to anyone, do not waste your money on another product.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Quiet Never Felt So Good I built a bedroom next to my sons gaming room and a bedroom loft above it. I insulated all the walls in a day. Roxul is so easy to use and it cuts like butter using a serrated knife allowing me to quickly cut odd sized pieces in seconds. It is a breeze to install. My house is 135 years old and was drafty. Not only did the Roxul Safe 'n' Sound block the noise it also warmed up the rooms tenfold. The loft is no longer chilly and drafty and the 3rd bedroom is so well insulated you cannot even talk between rooms anymore. You must go into the hall to speak to anyone. It has made the 3rd bedroom so warm that I had to shut the vent off. I sleep soundly and my son can game without worrying about the noise.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Versatile material I have a century home that’s double brick. Horizontal wood strips were embedded into the brick, with vertical slats attached for holding the lathe and plaster. I gutted all aspects of the old vertical slats, sealed any cracks/holes in the masonry, and added new 2X3s as vertical slats... 16” apart. I then had to determine what to stuff in between. At first I contemplated ridged foam, but I hate cutting it.Then I thought about slicing safensound bats like slicing a loaf of bread, but that seemed impractical. Finally, I found this product for basement walls, and decided to give it a try. Comffortboard 80 Cuts easy. Tight fitting. Conserves space. Will last a lifetime.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Purchase and Easy Install! Wow! I purchased 30 bags of the ROCKWOOL Safe 'n' Sound and was able to install it all by myself. I calculated that many bags on Rockwool's bag calculator on their website! Very accurate.. This product was very easy to install. Cutting around outlets, wires, and pipes was like cutting bread. Before the drywall went up, I could already tell a difference. I put the Safe 'n' Sound around all my laundry room, bathrooms, bedrooms, and in the basement ceiling. Not only does it provide sound proofing, it has other benefits as well. Such as fire resistant and no mildew can grow on it. I am so glad my builder let me install this product on my own. Would I recommend this product? Yes, 100%.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This product saved our house! We installed this in our basement ceiling 3 years ago. Our gas fireplace in the basement cought fire this weekend and the smoke and flames destroyed alot of it. The fire was so hot it had melted light fixtures and the fan off of the ceiling! We had double lined the ceiling with roxul when finishing the basement as our master bedroom is right over the gas fireplace and down stairs living room and we wanted maximum protection! Well unfortunately it was put to the test but it did exactly as it should! We had zero, that's right ZERO damage to the upstairs of our house above the fire! I can't say enough good things about this product! It saved our house and all who were in it! Thank you and I will never use any other insulation product in my home!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Peace & Quiet During construction of a new home, we installed Safe N Sound in the stud bays of the floor and walls of an upstairs master bedroom. The Safe N Sound cuts easily with a standard bread knife and is not messy or itchy like fiberglass. The batts are made of a springy material that simply pushes into place between the studs and stays there without any fasteners. The results were immediately evident, as the sounds from all surrounding rooms were muffled when inside the master bedroom. This is exactly what was needed in a house with a big family with noisy kids and common area/den occupying the lower floor. Great product!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Amazing Insulation for Home and Studio too The first time I tried Roxul (now Rock Wool) was a few years ago to make some sound absorbing panels for my recording studio at home. They turned out better than professional panels at a fraction of the cost. The stone wool was easy to cut with a kitchen knife, and still holds it's shape perfectly after 5 years now. I liked it so much, I asked a contractor to use RockWool last spring when I was getting some work done in my home to help with insulating and sound proofing the walls and ceiling. I will soon be insulating my outdoor garage and I'm looking forward to using ComfortBatt for that project this summer. I probably sound like a commercial, but it does a terrific job and is worth every penny. I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Can I use confortboard behind a 2x4 frame without attaching it to the concrete wall?

Posée par: AT01
I don't know why not - it's pretty firm. And there would be no thermal bridge.  I have gone directly to the Rockwool website and asked their technical people for help with questions.  I had to temporarily glue comfortboard to the cement wall as there was no way I could get a fastener into the block.  Then I had it framed over with 2x4s that I added 4" Rockwool Batt insulation to.  Then drywalled over that and have been using a Benjamin Moore primer that qualifies as a vapour barrier on all my exterior walls so I don't have plastic vapour barrier under the drywall causing moisture problems. Makes it all super warm and super quiet.   Good luck

Can I use this in my camper subfloor?

Replacing white foam
Posée par: Thenewdoityourselfer
Comfortboard is not a structural product, so it isn't a "board" that you can walk on. It comes in the dimensions supplied by the manufacturer and it would need to be cut in order to fit between standard 16" or 24" stud or joist spacing. Generally speaking it is used as a continuous layer of insulation and then furring (nailing) strips, or a layer of plywood, would be placed over it. I wouldn't recommend putting a continuous layer of Comfortboard over your existing subfloor and then adding another layer of subfloor. This would add weight to your camper and the Comfortboard would compress when you walked on the floor. This would cause your subfloor fasteners to stick out under compression and then return flush to the subfloor when the load is removed. If an added layer of subfloor wasn't too heavy, you could put furring strips (the same thickness as the Comfortboard) over the original subfloor and then fill in between the furring strips with the Roxul product.

I'm looking for ComfortBoard 168605/6/7 which is 4'x8' and need about 6 sheets. It's not available at my Georgia HD, nor does is show availability for ship to store or for online order. Any hope for this? Thanks.

Dear DoItMyself: Yes. Roxul ComfortBoard is available -- along with many other building products -- from your Home Depot's Pro Desk. Many customers are not aware of this service; you can order a wide range of building products that are not stocked on retail shelves, with competitive prices and delivery to the store or you job site / home. We often order special PVC molding, decking, railing, etc from the Pro Desk. Also take a look at Roxul Rockboard with is available with white poly or foil facing, if you plan to install it in an area that will not be covered. I hope this is helpful. Mark
