Rated 5 de 5 de par Ryobi Articulated trimmer attachment Cuts well - attached it to a Troy-Bilt 4 cycle trimmer and used it to clear about a 1/2 acre of marshy bottom land on my property. Works great at cutting tall grasses and weeds over 1-2 ft tall. Much better than a string trimmer or brush cutter attachment for what I use it for. Cuts saplings up to 1/2 inch or so, and wild rose bushes, briars etc. Teeth opening is one inch. Angle adjustment is easy. The only issue with it is that it only adjusts between 0-90% which makes it harder to use if you are trying to trim the top of a tall hedge from the ground. Overall though I am very pleased with the attachment - works great for my purposes.

I bought this because of a monster hedge in my back yard. It's very tall and wide. I did not have enough reach with my electric trimmer. I also hate dealing with the cords. I was not sure of the quality because there are units out there that are called "professional" and cost a lot more. Let me tell you I have put this thing through the grinder and it has never given me a problem. I have cut branches a lot thicker than this is supposed to be able to cut. I have accidentally hit my chain-link fence more than once. I have also had it running for hours at a time. I do not see how spending more money could buy a higher quality trimmer attachment.

The articulating trimmer has extended the usefulness of our Ryobi electric base unit tremendously at an affordable price and without the need to buy yet another standalone unit. It gave us a great productivity boost this fall, allowing us to quickly cut away all the spent foliage of daylilies, ornamental grasses and perennials in our many flower beds -- something we used to do primarily by hand. The adjustment of the angle of the trimmer ("articulation") is also very easy to do. This is a very good product! No dislikes. We have owned this less than a month, so I can't comment on long term build quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was shopping for an attachment to help me clear brush. some of the hedge attachments out there didn't get good reviews because of build quality. This hedge attachment has excellent build quality. So far I am very pleased. it cuts weeds and small brush easily without throwing it all over me like a string trimmer does. The only negative is any brush larger that about a quarter of an inch you have to hold the hedger against it until it chews through it. that can be tiring, I will still get my brush cutter out for larger brush.

Rated 3 de 5 de par I’ve used these trimmers for maybe 8-10 hours so far... I’ve used these trimmers for maybe 8-10 hours so far and honestly, I was expecting better results. This trimmer is attached to a gas powered ryobi power head bought at same time the trimmer was purchased, and the trimmer does not cut even smaller branches (~1/4”) easily. My electric powered b&d hedge hog cuts branches more easily than this trimmer, and the electric trimmer has a smaller bite than the new trimmer? I have now sharpened the teeth on this trimmer and my electric trimmer a couple times now, and it improves cutting ability on the electric trimmer but not the new trimmer. Overall, this trimmer gets the job done but should cut much more easily than it does.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Very Good Trimmer With Extras [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only had the trimmer for a short while, but it works well and the articulating feature really helps reduce the painful contortions required for contour trimming with a straight angle trimmer. The action is positive and it cuts very well. If it is still working this well after two years I would rate it a five star plus. I do think it is a shame that Ryobi doesn't offer an extended drive shaft to give the machine a longer reach. Some folks have taller, shaped shrubbery because they want it taller and it is much safer to have both feet on the ground when operating power equipment.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Seems to have as much power as my gas 25 cc. Definite easier starting. Easy connect to power source handle. 9 different angle settings on hedge trimmer itself and can be rotated on power handle for 3 more settings for a total of 27. I'm about 5'10' and can reach top of 12' white pine without ladder with this trimmer. Time saved and safety not having to move ladder, especially on mounds, is great. While the frustrated lawn care pro working across the street wore out his shoulder pulling the start cord gas trimmer I had half a white pine done. I noticed him steeling glances at my Ryobi. I maintain 3 properties. I love the "Expand It" line of tools. I put the hedge trimmer, string trimmer, edger, rototiller along with the one power source handle for all in the trunk of my sports car.

I bought this along with the 40v power head and I also bought the had held hedge trimmer , I have a lot of bushes . This add on attachment did not preform at all , had a hard time cutting just aboujt anything I fed it .Did not cut clean when it did cut . In fact I took the tool back already it was useless . I was very disappointed in Ryobi for this sham of a hedge trimmer . On the other side the hand held trimmer i bought is AWESOME ! sharp as a razor and cuts like butter , makes it easy to put a finish trim on the bushes and carve them to a crisp sharp point , the add on head would not do that at all , horrible horrible !!

Only Home Depot can answer this question. This trimmer works exactly as designed. The availability of it to purchase should NOT be an issue. I ordered mine and it was delivered directly to my home. Surely Home Depot either has them in stock or has them available from the manufacturer.

No. A 2-3 ft extension does not come with this Articulating Hedge trimmer. However, universal extension drive shafts are available from several manufacturers.

Yes! I have been using it for the tall grass and it works well. I did have to tie a cord around the angle adjustment lever às it kept getting released. The only other issue is that the whole shaft will turn due to the pressure of pushing the cutting head against thick grass. I had to learn to move more slowly when cutting. This tool really helps me get my yard cleared of weeds and bamboo grass.

Yes, I used it on my 40 Volt cordless Ryobi trimmer. I bought it to trim grass from an 8 foot deep ditch. I can trim the whole ditch with only us 75% of battery charge, whereas using the string trimmer attachment, I would use 1 ¼ of a battery charge.
