Rated 2 de 5 de par great unit, limited life expectancy I've now bought 5 of these brushless units, to date 3 have failed with the clicking mentioned by other buyers and one was just completely dead.. I've contacted Ryobi support and they just tell me to send them in for repair.. at the end of the day they aren't really repairable as the entire motor and gearbox is a single assembly and accounts for about 75 percent of the unit.. it's really a throw away unit when it fails.. non of the units have lasted more than 5 months.. it's been an endless use it until quits and then take it back to home depot for refund and purchase a new one.. I've asked Ryobi a number of times if they're going to improve the gearbox assembly and just get the same comment about sending it in for repair.. it's a great unit when it works and just wish it would last longer

Swapped out 2 or 3 good batteries but still did not work. Took it back to Home Depot and got a refund. Decided not to reorder due to high price and poor experience with the one I bought. I have a lot of Ryobi 18V tools and have been pleased with most of them but this pruner was terrible!

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is the best tool, I've bought in years. I got one a few months ago with the two battery pack. I saw this one on sale and got it to have a spare and maybe a helper tool. I've used this to cut limbs up to an inch thick and it worked like a charm. I've had a 2ah battery on the one I use for over a month and have probably done around 200 cuts with it. Still sharp and fits into small areas and is awesome when your cutting thorn bushes because of the minimal hand movement and the tool body shields keeps your hand far enough back to protect it. I recommend it to my brother and he got one to, I recommend any Ryobi fan to get this tool.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Breaks easily It breaks if you cut something too large. I am having it fixed. Has been three weeks. I drove a long way to find a Ryobi service. Ryobi will send the broken part, but it has not arrived after waiting 2 weeks. If it has not arrived in another 2 weeks, then service will fill out forms for replacement. This puts the tool I need out of action for 3 weeks and counting.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Skeptic Convert The Ryobi One+ HP Brushless Cordless Pruner was a bit of surprise,..., firstly, I was impressed the pruner was able to cleanly cut 1 inch diameter branches and brush with ease, whether it was dry or wet (live/green). I was skeptical after reading the earlier non-HP pruner review, that it had issues cutting 3/4 inch branches or twigs,..., however, cutting 1 inch branches, twigs or brush was not an issue with the HP Pruner. Secondly, I like the "safety feature" with the cutter blades can only be closed, after pulling the trigger and removing the battery, simultaneously - less chance of an accident or risk of injury, if the blades were open, and the tigger was engaged while inserting a battery.

Rated 4 de 5 de par this pruner is simply amazing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I give the tool a 4 because Ryobi seems unable to supply spare blades in their parts department. E-Replacement does not even recognize the model tool. A consumable like the blade should be on the shelf at Home Depot! Operation of the pruner is elegant. Squeeze the trigger the branch snaps off. Why is is necessary for the LEd light to stay on for 30 seconds? Why is the "protective cover" made offlimsy plastic? I would pay extra for a real carry case to protect the tool.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Life changing wrist saver [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using this pruner for over a month, and it's brilliant. Large yard with hundreds (really!) of trees, shrubs and perennials that need frequent pruning. In the past I used high quality manual pruners, sharpened often, but still hard on the hand and wrist after hours of pruning. This Ryobi pruner is fast, effortless and accurate, I have nothing negative to say. It makes hundreds and hundreds of cuts on a 2 AH battery. Very comfortable to use, not heavy. Tip: If you want to store it with the jaws closed for safety, squeeze the trigger to close the jaws, hold the trigger down and pull out the battery. The jaws will remain closed when you release the trigger.

Rated 4 de 5 de par I bought this because my hands were taking a beating... I bought this because my hands were taking a beating using regular pruners, and I thought this would help me out a little. I was wrong, these pruners work fantastic! they work well on live and dead branches. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because you can’t store them in the closed position. In order for me to keep them closed while storing them is to press the trigger and when they close, take out the battery.

Pruner is great, except it locks on occasion. Any thoughts?

Are there replacement blades available for when the blades wear out and/or break? Also can you sharpen the blades, if so how?

Posée par: ToolTester
What are you cutting with it that you break the cutters. I have pruned my peach trees, my grapes, my roses, my Texas sage. Even cut some wire and the cutters show any wear and doesn?t Need sharpening.

The specs say that "Cut strokes per minute" is 1. What does this mean? Sounds like you have to wait a minute between cuts, but that seems unreasonable. (The Model #P2504BTL says "Cut stokes per minute" is 2600, which also seems unreasonable.)

Posée par: DAlan
This particular unit is very fast. I bought one the day it came out. You don't want to have anything in the way when you press that trigger or it's going to cut it. I accidentally cut some of my chain link fencing with mine.

Does it fit in a small hand? Is it easy to operate the safety and the trigger with one hand?

Posée par: Forthewife
The pruner is designed to be used one handed, there's nothing for the other hand to do. The safety is a little lever that's part of the trigger (it's not a separate button), you could operate it with one finger. As to hand size, the grip is not tiny, but it doesn't need large hands. If you can squeeze a regular Felco (type) hand pruner, you can hold this pruner comfortably.

What is the function of the half-circle located on the side of the cutting blades? Is it to open the jaws when a branch gets caught sideways and jams the cutting blades?

Posée par: d4d70
It is to remove the cutter blades.

Is this a true Ryobi tool, or something called Pacroban ? Also being I can't find it in any HD stores is it being discontinued or replaced by a newer model?

I bought the HP model Pruner (P2505VNM) with battery and I love it. However, increasingly, it?s sounding like an impact driver during operation. Not cutting big branches, a few thumb sized but mostly smaller ones. Is this normal? An adjustment?
