Rated 5 de 5 de par Works great! Works great! This ice salt isn't actually made of ice, but is made entirely of salt, which is great, because I wanted to use it to get rid of ice and do other things. The bag was intact and was completely filled with salt. It didn't have any ice in it at all! Before using the salt, I carried the bag inside of my house and stood on a bathroom scale with the bag in hand; the weight of me and the bag, less the weight of me without the bag (I had to set the bag down for this), equalled the weight of the bag as advertised. This is great! I noted that consuming a small amount of the salt can cause redness and drooling but I also realize that this is not for consumption. It is for melting ice, and is melts it real good. This salt is great! Never been happier!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Rock Salt It’s salt. It works. It’s cheap. I have been using salt on iced walkways for 50 years, and it still works the same as it ever did. Not great for grass, so don’t throw snow or ice on to your lawn or garden, throw or push to the road.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works well at a low cost Pretty much does what it's supposed to at a low cost. I use it mixed with Alaskan ice melter which I find works well. I try to minimize use of salt in general though for environmental reasons. Most of the time, an ice scraper will do a great job without use of salt.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Rock Salt We are a snow contractor and this product is excellent we use a Bauman Salter to drop salt on sidewalks and last long melts good and provides traction.

Will this damage a new asphalt drive way or new concrete pad?

Short answer is no, however the quality of the new asphalt, meaning pits and holes will allow water that thaws and freezes to accelerate breaking apart the new asphalt. Cracks in the new concrete as well. Inspect your asphalt and concrete, seal holes and cracks, then salt would not be an issue. Repeat each fall beofre using winter salt, this wil extend the life.

Sifto Ice Salt is not specifically labelled as pet-safe. Always follow the instructions written on the bag. If you’re looking for a better alternative, consider pet-friendly ice melts such as HDX Pet-Friendly ice melters.
