Rated 5 de 5 de par Very goog product I used this to fill some cracks in my swimming pool deck. It has a very low viscosity so it wicks into the crack. I had some cracks that went all the way through the 4" deck and it was running out the bottom. I waited about 2 hours and added some silica sand in the wide cracks and then went over them with more epoxy. Let me tell you this stuff is strong. I had some high spots where the sand and epoxy was above the deck surface. After curing for a week I went out to level the high spots. I had to use a belt sander with a heavy grit belt. The concrete around the high spots sanded easier then the epoxy. They say its stronger then concrete. Believe it.

This product works great - even for larger cracks if you use sand to fill the crack first. Pour sand in the crack until it is to the top and then saturate with the Sika crack fix. You may need to work it in with a stick or your hands (WEAR GLOVES!), but once the sand is wet, it will cure inside the crack just fine. If the sand is slightly above the crack, you can level it off with an angle grinder and a wire cup wheel once cured. It may take a minute because this stuff is TOUGH! But that is what you want when you are filling a crack!

Not sure why people want to give low rating for them not reading and how to prep properly when buying a product. This is what you need to permanently fill those cracks and even thin enough to get into those smaller cracks (packing and\or sand required in some cases). Compared to other repair products this is right within the price range for a products out there. (some are $100 a pint kit) I also thought this was a 10oz tube (missed it) but not going to underrate a product for my own stupidity.

I read the negative reviews before purchasing this product and was almost afraid to try it because of the bad press on it. However, after trying the product I am highly impressed with it. It is thicker than water and very easy to control during the application process. I had eighth inch cracks in my driveway and the product worked well on them. It flowed into the crack and then maintained a flow of material above the crack while it was reacting with the the crack and surrounding concrete. It takes about three hours to become tacky and during this three hour period the product was leveling itself into the crack. I like this product a great deal and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to fill and eighth inch wide crack in their driveway or any other level concrete surface.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worked great for me If you read the info and the reviews, you will understand that 1) this is a low-viscosity product (more like pancake syrup than water), and 2) it is fairly clear (dries shiny). I bought it specifically for it's thinness to help set some wedge anchor bolts more securely in concrete, and also to make a level base for a metal vinyl post support (self leveling). The stuff does not match concrete color or texture, and is not suited for wider cracks. They should probably call it "hairline" crack fix for concrete, because I think it will work great for that. Anything over about 3/32" of an inch is going to require some sand or backer or the product is going to run right through. I don't think this is really suitable for anything much over 3/16" of an inch, but if you use some sand as a filler or a base, that might work fine. I would use the self-leveling stuff for a crack wider than 1/4", but that stuff doesn't give the structural strength this does.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Don’t buy this I tried using this on my patio and it looks terrible. First it ran through like crazy (apparently sand helps - would’ve been nice if that was in the instructions on the tube). After 2-3 passes it sort of held level but it dries terrible. It makes it look wet all the time and does not blend into concrete at all. God forbid you get any drips of this watery stuff on your concrete and don’t notice it because this stuff is impossible to remove and it looks like a wet drop forever. Now I have a NEW summer project trying to figure out how to undo this mess Don’t buy this

Ok, I'm not sure why people are all about the directions here, because it's the only thing worse than the product. The "directions" literally just say to "follow the instructions", in like 3 different languages, followed by a worthless 7 frame comic strip, and repeated warnings about how hazardous it is. Your finger tips are practically bleeding trying to pick the stopper out of this thing, after which the product goes flying every where, including all over you. Ridiculously, the "instructions" illustrate opening the tube on it's side, and no where on the tube does it say it's thin as spit, or to keep it upright. Finally, (after you clean up THAT mess) unless your "crack" is more like a hairline fracture, your wasting your money because it just runs straight through like water. If the surface is vertical, unlevel, or in any way not water tight, forget it. It will never stay where you put it. Nothing appropriate for what it shows on the front of the tube. Very misleading product.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Certainly Easy to Use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a crack in my porch step that had been getting worse with each winter freeze/thaw cycle. I caulked it, but it didn't go in very far, and was rubbery. It also bothered me how easy it was to take out. Obviously not what I should have used. I decided to give this a try. This epoxy very easy to use with a caulk gun and its self-mixing nozzle. It has a very thin consistency so it flowed into the gaps quite well. The problem was that, although the crack was stable, it start to flow out of some tiny areas of the vertical surface I never would have though were connected. I shored up those places to seal it off, and continued to fill the crack, and it continued to flow away somewhere. I suppose in a way that's a good thing because the weathering would do worse damage, but that brings me to another feature worth mentioning. Although the tube is designed to use with a caulk gun, it does NOT have the same amount of product in it as a tube of caulk or sealant. It's 6 fluid ounces. For the measurement challenged person, such as myself, that's 3/4 cup (1 cup=8 ounces). The flow of sealant starts further up in the tube, and ends before the end of the tube. I did not have enough to complete my job after plugging the leaks and whatever else happened. I will buy more of it, though. It has coated the interior of the crack very well, plugging previously pathways (I hope). I have enough faith to give it another go. This is definitely the TYPE of product I need. I think I just need to do the job right.

Is this a one-time use product? Can it be partially used, stored & re-used? If used, what is the shelf-life?

Posée par: georgia
As per the packaging the shelf life is 24 months. you can reseal the tube easily if you mark which way the cap came off. AS this is a 2 part mixture so if you mix the end up it will most likely react and seal the cap on.

My cracks are in stained concrete. Can I mix stain in the epoxy before applying?
Posée par: csanta18
You can but possibly a better solution would be to use colored material (fine sand) along with the epoxy. If you apply the epoxy to the crack (assuming it is horizontal) and then pour some sand into the crack the sand will bridge the gap and hold the epoxy in the fracture. Once the sand is in the gap then apply another coating of epoxy and let it settle down into and around the sand. If your crack is in a vertical plane then you can apply epoxy to the crack and then make a small mixture of sand and epoxy to trowel into the crack. It is important that the crack be wetted before application of sand in either case. A plastic trowel or applicator such as is used in fiberglass is handy to smooth and move epoxy/sand. The colored material will give a better finished appearance than stained epoxy alone (IMO).

CAN YOU PAINT OVER THIS PRODUCT BASEMENT FLOOR APPLICATION

Posée par: Epoxy
Hi Paint, some customers have been successful with painting over cured Sikadur Crack Fix. We would recommend allowing the product to fully cure then do a light sanding on the surface to remove any blushing from the epoxy and continue with any compatibility and adhesion test of the paint.

After applying this Epoxy crack filler, can I apply concrete overlay on top of it 24 hours after applying the Epoxy.
Posée par: Dev101
Cracks in concrete denote movement....usually shrinkage....but often there are other reasons such as settling and shifting below the concrete. In my experience epoxy won't solve these problems and even if the epoxy is cured an overlay of concrete, tile, or slate will also crack. I have sealed cracks with epoxy/sand before applying a product such as "Red Guard" in multiple layers ( at least 10 mil thick) and then used a latex thin-set to bond the overlay. This has worked for me when there isn't a lot of movement. As far as 24 hours goes....I think it should be cured by then. Once epoxy is cured it should be abraded before trying to bond anything to it. If in doubt call the manufacturer.
