Rated 5 de 5 de par L-shaped bracket The L-shaped angle brackets worked well for building my patio steps with pressure treated lumber. It will take some a while to see if the brackets stand the test of time.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I used four of these to mount a new electrical panel to the wall studs. Great little corner braces and plenty strong enough. Newer electrical panels don't have "nail holes" on the sides for good reason, you can damage the main busses swinging a hammer. These are a good alternative. Just using a few screws to secure the braces to the wall studs and drill a hole on the four corners of the box before installing in the wall space and then through the corner braces and use one sheet metal screw per corner.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Changing the Veterans discount sucks. In the past, all anyone who is a veteran had to do was present their IDENTIFICATION CARD, and you were given a discount. Now if you haven’t gone online and filled out your application, which needs personal information, can you say possibly open for Identify Theft, out who knows where. This is very poor respect to ourselves.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Many uses Have used many of these. This one was used for wooden fencing. They hold up well, easy to install, never rust and are versatile.

Rated 4 de 5 de par This product is great when used in the manner it was designed for. I returned product because it was not strong enough for the project and purpose I was planning on using it for. The product is great and I have used similar Simpson items for other framing applications.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I used this to attach boards to a deck stair. The support beam had some damage over the years, and direct screwing seemed to be not secure. These ties make the job a lot easier. They are strong and weather proof. The holes are of the right size for the deck screws so putting them on is a breeze. The quality is good.

Will these work joining a 2x8 to a 4x4 deck post?

Posée par: BG
I would use a regular floor joist hanger. These would have to be placed on 3 sides to keep the joist from moving from side to side over time.

What width screw should I use? #6 or #8? Galvanized wood screws for an outdoor application?

Posée par: MattyN
Use #6 exterior screws, because #8 will be too large for the holes in the angle.

whats the difference between a23 and a23z?

Posée par: jake
Hello jake, This is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. The difference between A23 and A23Z is the layer of sacrificial zinc on the part. A23 has the lower, interior grade galvanization only suitable for a dry interior installation not in contact with most pressure treated lumber. A23Z (Zmax finish) has a heavier layer of zinc suitable for a wet or exterior installation and/or contact with most pressure treated lumber. The A23Z can be used indoors or out. The required fasteners and published allowable load values remain the same. For more information enter A23 in the Search Strongtie field in the upper left corner at strongtie.com. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you
