This box says "heavy duty" but the construction of the box that allows you to place items inside makes for a weak box- nothing heavy duty about it. There should be a weight limit posted for this product as well. My two feet of closet space and someone else's are different and therefore providing closet space requirements isnt adequate. Lastly, the weight on the bar plus clothes which is held up by "heavy duty" cardboard isnt strong enough! This box is for light clothing at best and local shipping only as you cant be responsible for how a shipping provider would handle the box. Images below are for a move from NY to Cali with FedEx.

I love this box and would have given it "excellent" - very heavy duty and great way to move clothes on hangers and immediately set up your new closet. BUT.....I had to back to the store to get the metal bar!!! I had bought the last 2 boxes and when i got home and unwrapped the first one, I realized there was no metal bar. I had thought it was enclosed in the package, but actually should have been strapped onto the outside of the box. Most distressingly, when I went back to the store the next day for something else, I saw the 2 boxes I returned (without metal bars) back on the shelf, waiting for someone else to make the same mistake I did!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Brown and box-like. This box was exactly as described. Cardboard with a metal hanging bar. The box assembles like most boxes, and requires only a modicum of thought. It has that fresh cardboard scent that makes you feel like you are a burly moving man. You feel like you make a difference. Plus, the clothes do not get wrinkled, so you can pull out your frilled blouse and powder blue tux and hit the town running! Alas, the box it came in was damaged, so no bonus box.

Rated 1 de 5 de par I purchased 4 of these wardrobes for my move. I put it together and filled it with light hanging... I purchased 4 of these wardrobes for my move. I put it together and filled it with light hanging clothes. It was then carried downstairs to be put on moving truck. Unfortunately, as it was lifted to put on the truck, it fell apart!. The box caved in and the bar broke the corrugate - apparently, the box is not sturdy enough for its purpose. I had filled 3 wardrobe boxes which all broke and found their way into the garbage. I was able to return one. They were a waste of money and very disappointing.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is a sturdy product for moving I wouldn't move with out wardrobe boxes. My clothes stay wrinkle free and the time I save is amazing. Time is precious and these wardrobe boxes are a definite time saver. I also use the bottom of the box to store shoes or bags.

Rated 1 de 5 de par The wardrobe box leaves a 1" gap on top and bottom. Very poor design! I love the Heavy Duty Home Depot moving boxes. They are the best on the market, and I have just purchased over 100 of them for my move. But, the Home Depot Wardrobe Box is a surprisingly poor design that leaves a large 1" gap on both the top and bottom seams that has to be sealed with tape. I used 1 of these reluctantly because of a timing issue, but the others are being returned.

Rated 5 de 5 de par These were great They were too big to fit in my 2 door coupe but that's okay. They hung a ton of my clothes. I don't know why some people would say their flimsy, because I had no problem. I had one of them holding my clothes for like 3 weeks prior to my move and there were no problems. I could fit like 40+ shirts on one bar. They're really great.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good, but would be nice if sturdier The box is a good overall purchase. The set-up was somewhat difficult as it is hard to keep it straight and aligned while taping it. It does the job fairly well, but once loaded is somewhat flimsy and prone to collapse. Also, if it has a large load inside the bar tends to dig into the box and starts to tear it. It is a good way to move clothing, but it is best suited to moving a moderate amount of clothing. A normal sized closet will take at least two of these boxes and maybe more if you have any heavier clothing such as suits or sweaters.

yes i moved 1500 miles and they with stood the move. I moved from California to Texas. It was packed in a cargo trailer.

Yes, the bar can be removed. The bar slips downward onto the box at the top through a slot on each side once the box is unfolded. The two slots (one on each side) are precut/perforated and by folding the cardboard ear over then slipping the metal bracket over the folded ear, that seems to reenforce the box for the load when clothes are hung inside. I used a packing tape to help keep the bottom flaps in place once the box is filled and closed.

There are handles (holes) on the sides, one on each side. It was pretty easy to carry if the box doesn't weigh a lot after packed. Depending on the thickness of the articles you put in the box, you could fill it with quite a bit of stuff. I was able to fit about 15-20 shirts/pants in a box but I have those really flat (black velvet) hangers. Thick winter coats, not so many.

Will it fit a lamp 36"x 19"x19"

Can I not use the metal bracket, and will it then fit this lamp size for shipping?

These boxes are great for many uses, including odd-shaped items. Just be sure to use plenty of padding to avoid breakage. My suggestion would be to still use the metal rod, just to be sure that the top doesn't get crushed if another box is placed on top. It will most likely be pretty expensive to ship, since it is oversized - be prepared to pay a steep price to ship the lamp (speaking from experience!).

If you mean protected from mice and insects NO! The "handles" are holes in the sides. So for storage you need to tape them over, as well as the unsealed edges, just like any of your boxes. IMHO you also need moth balls and insect repellant before storing in the cheapo outdoor storage spaces.

Yes, we're using them for that. However, keep in mind that with the metal bar across the top, it's not fully sealed (there's a small gap). If you want the box fully sealed to keep out bugs, etc. you'll want to account for that.
