We first bought a refrigerator/freezer and it worked so well we bought the range. These are heavy duty well made products and the range is not your average cheap 24 inch stove. It is built like a tank and works like a dream.

Have only used this a couple of times (because it's too hot to cook!) but we are happy with the look and function of the burners. We are not "off-grid" but one of the reasons we specifically wanted this range was the battery ignition, so there are no standing pilots like in our previous gas range.

I purchased this because it will be easy to move, and will work if the power goes out. That said, the finish is horrible. It is black and hides grease and dirt but it has these white etch marks in the finish that show when dry. Right in front where you can’t miss them. I have only used dawn so it is not due to anything except spilled food. Our previous stove was black and never looked like this, even after 7 years. We have had this for six months. This stove was not a bargain so I really expected better quality. Really makes me wonder how long it will last considering lack of care on the outside.

Our propane installer even noted what a nice stove it is. We bought it about 6 weeks ago for a guest apartment with a tiny kitchen. It is well made, heavy duty, nothing cheap-looking about it. It has a lot of features you find in full size gas stoves and the oven is roomy. Also, it is beautiful. I would recommend it without reservation.

I especially like how the burners have options for how your cooking. My last range always burned my rice because it wouldn't go low enough. I also like how it was already set for propane instead of gas. Usually it's the propane user that have to make the changes. Love it!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great range Purchased this model 5 years ago. It has split burners, NOT sealed burners. Split burners can be disassembled without tools for easy cleaning (sealed burnerscannot be disassembled. The range works as advertised. No issues with finish comes with two oven racks. It still works with the original battery to ignite the burners . Had an issue with the oven door not closing fully ( 5 years old),contacted the manufacturer directly, they responded within 1 hr, couriered door hinges kit, free of charge and K installed them Extremely pleased with this made in Canada appliance.

Rated 5 de 5 de par We have been using this stove for about 6 months. I love the fact that it is off grid and it does... We have been using this stove for about 6 months. I love the fact that it is off grid and it doesn't seem to use a ton of propane even though I use it multiple times a day sometimes for long periods of time. The inside is large enough for my standard cookie sheets and I have not had any issues with it being a smaller than standard stove. Sometimes it will take a few tries to light the oven, but in reading the manual I guess this is normal. We had to order a replacement glass portion recently (maybe it got jostled and created a hairline fracture when our house got moved. Im not sure why it shattered). Their parts department was very helpful, easy to reach with no hold time, and they replaced it without question and for free even though it could have easily been something that we did that caused it to shatter. It also wiped down easily and even though we have a fairly messy household I havent had any issues with it being white because it cleans up easily and quickly.

What kind of batteries are used for the ignition? Can you confirm that the oven functions without electricity? Is there an oven thermostat?

The ignition uses 1 D cell battery. Yes, the oven works without electricity and it has a thermostat. This stove is great as an off grid appliance.

Does this stove require the pilot light to be lit all the time? We have two stoves that require the pilot light to be lit before use and I have one stove in the States that does not require a pilot light, just turn the burner, clicks and lights.

Our Unique Off-Grid Classic Ranges do have a pilot light. To light either the cooktop or oven, simply push and turn the knob, it will click the battery ignition system and light the flame.

I believe that it will Have cooked a 14 pound turkey in this range. It is in a remote camp that I will be checking on this weekend. I’ll measure the oven and update if it’s smaller than that.

Does this come with the gas hose to connect to the propane gas line? If not ,what should I buy?

No, our Unique Off-Grid range does not come with a propane gas line. Your licenses gas tech who hooks up the range should have everything needed to install the range. A typical three foot (36” maximum length) flexible gas connector is recommended.

I have a followup question vs an answer ... how is it in the above answer that the packing crate is smaller than the product dimensions for the range? The range is 39.4 x 29.5 x 24 according to the specs and the answer above indicates the packing crate is only 32 x 27 x 24. Could someone at Unique please confirm?
