Rated 5 de 5 de par Good pizza stone! So far I have made two pizzas in two days on this guy. First came out amazing, but the second burned the crust and left the toppings cold. However, I chalk this up to a learning curve of using this in conjunction with lump charcoal. The instructions are clear for briquettes, but lump is somewhat less predictable. The flavor from lump is worth it to me. So if you use gas or charcoal briquettes I expect this will work great for you. I will investigate ways to reduce my issues. However, know these are my own fault. When I checked after burning the crust, I had the stone at 567 degrees Fahrenheit! That's impressive this thing could get that hot!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Burns crust every single time! I make a lot of pizza, and I do a lot of grilling, so I was excited to try combining them with this stone. First warning - nothing in the instructions or Weber website gave any hints for using this. I have tried many different dough recipes and thicknesses, and get the same result every time -- the crust burns to a horrible black before the cheese on top ever melts. I did some tests with an IR thermometer - the stone easily gets to 700 degrees (which is good), but the ambient temperature (according to the kettle top) is only 400 degrees. So the crust cooks way faster than the topping, making it impossible to make an edible pizza. Be warned!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Help for burnt crust We have not tried the stone yet but we are shopping for a replacement for another brand that could not take the heat and it cracked. I see most people who are dissatisfied are having issues with burnt crust and undercooked tops. Here is a tip to help: We preheat the heat the stone and grill with center burners on low and outside burners on high. When we are ready to put the first pizza on the stone we slide it on the stone in the grill and it gives us a nice crisp bottom and a lovely top!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Better than pizzeria pizza! I've tried a lower quality pizza stone in my Weber grill but it shattered. I took every precaution necessary, even slowly building up the temperature but it couldn't handle the high heat. The weber pizza stone had no problem handling the heat. I love the smokey flavor that you get when you cook pizza on the grill. This beats cooking directly on the grill grates because you get a more even cooking on the crust.

Rated 3 de 5 de par on the fence I am on the fence about this. I have such high hope of thin, perfectly grilled crust, topped with perfectly cooked topping and melted cheese that somehow all stayed on top of the pizza... well, THAT dream didn't come true. The crust was uneven and even though I used cornmeal like I do with my indoor pizza stone, it stuck to the stone in a few spots. The cheese was all over the place and once it hits the stone it is very hard to clean. we ended up with a crust that was mostly overcooked (read BURNED LOL) and at least 20 mins of intense cleaning of the stone afterwards. I believe that there is a learning curve with this insert and I haven't given up yet! May update this review if my next experience is more positive, or if it stays the same :)

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best pizzas I've ever made! The pizzas I have made on this grill-stone have been fabulous! The crust is perfect. They take less than 10 minutes to cook. After some initial trial and error, I learned to preheat the stone on the grill, make my pizza on a paddle using corn meal to keep from sticking and to help with an easy transfer to the grill-stone. I found videos on you-tube that really helped me get started.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Stop reading and buy this Do you like pizza? Of course you do! So stop considering this and just buy it! I love making homemade pizzas and I love things cooked over a fire so this was a must! I need to buy another so that I can make multiple pizzas faster. I mean, how did I live before I had the tools to cook pizza over a fire? I don't know, but I no longer have to think about it. (make sure to have really good gloves and trivets, this things gets toasty) #mandiereviews

Do you have to cure the stone before you use it. Or can you just take it out of the box and cook a pizza with it?
Posée par: Redbone
Hello, Thanks for your question! The pizza stone requires no curing and just needs to be rinsed with some water before its first use. Thanks!

Hi`, can this stone be used in the oven , if so, what is the recommended temperature and do i have to oil it first
Posée par: Newbie
I've been using this stone in our oven for several years now with great success. I generally use it at 450 degrees in our oven. I found that at 500 degrees the crust burned on the bottom while the pizza cheese and toppings looked fine. I've used both pizza shells and homemade crust. The crust needs to be watched carefully because the hotter oven seems inclined to burn the crust. So much depends upon what you're baking on the stone and the prescribed temperature in a recipe or on a package. I would suggest a series of test runs at lower temperatures (424 degrees perhaps) moving upward until you find an optimum temperature. We did that and settled on 450 degrees in our oven. Have also used it on our Weber grill several times, but again had to test it several times before we found an optimum temperature.

Will the stone work on the Q series and if so which of the series. I can't seem to correlate data to distinguish between the Q1200 and Q2200, titanium vs ? What's the significant difference between these grills. HD or your company might make it easier to compare or else I'm missing something here. If you can send your response to my email because I want to buy one of these Webers asap

This is not designed for the Weber Q series of grills as Weber does not offer a Gourmet Cooking grate for any of the Q's. There are other Pizza Stones that work well on the Weber Q, but I'm not sure if Home Depot carries them. Just have to make sure it isn't so large that it blocks the heat from getting around the stone so the ingredients on top can get cooked. I've cooked pizzas on my Q2200 without issue, but I do use an infrared thermometer to check the stone temperature to make sure it is above 400F before I put a pizza on.

Can this stone be used on a charcoal gril?

Posée par: Roland
Yes - I used it on my Weber charcoal grill throughout the summer of 2018 and it worked great. Add some wood chips to get a woodfired pizza taste.
