Rated 2 out of 5 by from Outdoor cam is poor, requires monthly service plan I'll be returning the 3 units I just bought for several reasons ... > the detection zone is no longer picking up activity (did at the beginning but has since dropped off) > the event recording is limited to 12 seconds so is pretty much useless when combined with the 1+ minute cool off period (unless you subscribe to the monthly service plan) > based on the latter experience I'm now becoming a bit put off by Wyze as I think this is where they're headed with all of their products

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for cottage use! After dealing with Wyze Support for 6 days in a row, Wyze advises that Wyze Cam needs a minimum upload speed of 1-2 Mbps for SD and 4-7 Mbps for HD. This specification should be cited as most cottages in Ontario have lower upload speeds. I checked Google Nest wireless cam and they specify the 2 Mbps requirement. My 3 wired WYZE cameras work just fine. Very disappointing. Wyze Support are courteous and responsive enough. Wish I kept the box to return it! The 12 second video cap and cool off period results in a lot of missed "events". The Cam Plus monthly subscription takes care of that issue. Battery life is satisfactory. Overall I am happy with Wyze but not with this wireless cam due to the upload requirement.

Easy to set up and install. recording time per event is a little short, and with "cool off" time between recordings, you may miss some action. It would be nice to have a setting to record for a full minute when motion sets off recording. Great video quality, decent battery life, and easy to recharge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great and Battery Life has been very good I had older Arlo cameras with rechargeable batteries which were a pain in the .. At 3X the cost. I've had the Wyze Outdoor Cam installed since December, it weathered our winter -30 spell with no issues. I got 3 months on the first charge through winter and the second charge is sitting at 64%. Based on this I should get another couple of months. 2-3 charges per year including winter. If you're adding another camera and it's going to be further, I'm not sure how far I would stretch the distance from the base unit. It might be worth the extra $19 and buy another full unit and locate the base unit close. I have mine connected through ethernet cable directly to my router through a switch, it works great this way. I can't comment on how stable it would be via WiFi.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Adequate but not great! Get spammed from the company to purchase “Cam Plus” subscription for better functionality of the devices. I realize now why their products are cheaper. You also need a decent internet service unless you buy Micro SD cards for every device so that recording becomes local instead of sending everything to the cloud. Frequently, devices become disconnected and stop communicating with the base station. In retrospect, I wish I had purchased a different camera set compatible with my NAS server.

They are advertised as waterproof and even though it was under the eaves it still failed. Unfortunately I missed Home Depot’s 90 day return-exchange policy so I was directed to Wyze. Wyze informed me that I have to go to point of purchase because they don’t ship to Canada. Additionally, the Wyze camera system is very bigger and prone to failure and missed motion detections. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera, Great value! Quick and easy to setup and link camera to base station and cell phone. Very clear picture and video and good replay. It only has a 12 second video replay then stops recording for a minute but I have a second camera in a different location that will pick up anything that the first camera misses. The speaker and microphone work very well for how small the camera is and have been able to have conversations with others through the camera and my phone.

Can event video be viewed and saved via app on a laptop/desktop?

You are able to download event videos from within the app on your phone or tablet. Wyze are working on a web view so you can see them in a browser.

How to fix the camera on wall or on wooden door surface please? Is it by screws or by adhesive tapes?

There are screws holes in the camera base plate. Screws come with the camera. If you go to any of the Wyze Facebook sites you can find many innovative ways people have attached cameras to various surfaces.

No. Wyze wants a subscription paid. Home Depot also won’t replace after 90 days and neither will Wyze honour the 1 year warranty. DO NOT BUY!

What type of rechargeable battery is needed? Does it come with rechargeable batteries?

The battery is included and is internal to the unit. But I do NOT recommend this model... you cannot record events with it, even with microSD cards installed in both the base and unit. I've switched to the Wyze cam v.3 and those are much much better. As long as you can get power to them.
