Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long-lasting, pure white light for work areas These bulbs are great for places where you want a clean, pure white light. I've deployed them in my garage, and my wife loves them in her craft areas as it helps to see the true colours of items. They aren't nice in places where you want a "warm" light (like bedrooms and living rooms), but that's why you can buy the "soft white" bulbs, too. I totally recommend this product, particularly at this pricepoint!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from shouldn't even be sold If you make a lightbulb that can't go in an enclosed fixture (which is ludicrous at $8 a bulb) put it ON THE PACKAGING. Nice of them to put this warning on the bulb only, so when I get home, take the ladder out, unscrew the fixture I get to find this out. I have bought led bulbs that state this on them before and they burn out quick in enclosed fixtures. You can absolutely buy led bulbs that state "can be used in fully enclosed fixtures). Usually cheap ones you can't, these are not cheap led's. look elsewhere

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Limited capability I tried out 6 of these bulbs on the outside of the house to add some christmas color. They are quite limited in what they can do, don't expect to put on any cool light shows with these bulbs. There are some packaged themes in the app, but there is no way to customize patterns or color changes to your own liking. Maintaining connectivity seems to be an issue, I had them all online then two of them disappeared (they were closer to my wireless router) and I could not get them back online. If you want just a simple colored light and have strong wifi, this may be fine, but if you want to have anything more than that you may be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied I've used these lights in conjunction with a good mesh WiFi system and I've had no issues with them. It's possible they need a good router signal to work well. I've got them set up exterior as well as interior. For the price, they are a heck of a deal compared to the Hue lights.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Planned Lifetime Bulbs? These bulbs appear to be built for planned obsolescence. I did entire rooms at the same time and the bulbs are all failing within days of each other. Planned lifetime appears to be just about exactly 12 months, since I bought them last year at this time. It doesn't matter that the LED can last 20+ years, if the electronics in the bulb can't make it past a year. Pros - Nice light color, closely matches incandescent bulbs. - Fairly quick to turn on, barely noticeable (perhaps around ~0.1 - 0.2 second) delay. Cons - Flickers fairly frequently - I believe this is from very slight power variations from the power grid. I wish capacitors would be built in to smooth out some of these. Incandescent bulbs just give a slight dimming, which is far preferable. - Bulbs fail quickly in regular, builder basic, ceiling lights...pretty much the only location I have for them. - About 10% of these fail earlier than others, but fail with a constant flickering instead of going out completely. These are all on non-dimmable switches. - Extremely consistently timed failures point to items meant to fail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good light produced Bought a case of ten and fitted throughout the home where this size of bulb was replacing the dreadful CFL type, instant on and plenty of light also the identical colour I was looking for to the incandescent originals, good buy would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Lights! I have two of the lights in my home office and one in the bedroom. I have experimented with several of the non-white colours as background lighting for Zoom calls, but I find the darker colours are not bright enough. I generally stick to the range of whites and adjust the warmth of the light depending on the time of day, which works well. Integrating the Wiz app with my Google Home setup was easy. It's faster to ask Google to turn on/off or adjust the lights than using the Wiz app. The initial setup was not easy. The automatic setup would not connect, so I had to use manual mode and temporarily disable the 5ghz band on my router. Still took 2 attempts before the light finally connected and I could revert the router setup back. Since connecting, I haven't experienced any other Wi-Fi issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It still humms... Despite the packaging, it still hums. Tired with two dimmer (Leviton Decora Smart Wifi and Leviton Slide Rocker). Audible humming audible from anywhere in the room. Good news is no flickering, and the light is quite nice. Too bad these are getting returned.

Are they recommended/ suitable for enclosed fixtures? The regular Philips Hue ones say in the package that they aren't, so I wanted to check on these ones.

I would like to use these lights in my Garage Door Opener.  Does this light bulb interfere with Garage Door Opener Remote radio frequencies?

Asked by: Bobby
I have these bulbs in close proximity to the garage door and have had zero issues. As long as the garage opener bulb socket is compatible in terms of wattage, you should be good.

Do these "Philips 40W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) A19 LED Light Bulb (Model # 460675)" make any noise while in use, ie, an annoying humming or buzzing sound? Thank you!

Asked by: Smitty
Hello, as far as I know they don't hum or buzz as they are not dimmable bulbs they should not be on a dimmer switch or they could hum.

Can this bulb be used in a fridge.. I'm looking for ice white not warm white bulb

Asked by: SoulSurfer
If we're talking about the same product (Philips 40W Equivalent A19 Daylight (5000K) Non-Dimmable LED Light Bulb (2-Pack)), then from my experience the answer is no. I bought them specifically for my refrigerator and even though the bulbs are marked as "suitable for damp locations" they both died within months. I've since replaced them with another brand that's been working fine for over 6 months now.

Is this bulb suitable for inset pot lights?

Asked by: RHI23
I cannot provide a knowledgeable answer for this question as I used them in my table lamps, where they work fine. All I can say is, if you have the incandescent type bulbs or there LED equivalent there now they will be fine for this application.

I have a ceiling fan with 3 lights that I'd like to use this with, however it's got a remote dimmer installed in the fixture. Will these bulbs still work in the ceiling fan if I leave the wireless dimmer set to highest brightness setting?

Asked by: CaptainCanuck
Dimmers, even at full power modify the electrical sine wave and can cause issues with LED drivers that are expecting non-dimmed power. It might work but there is a much larger charge you'll damage the bulbs and they'll fail prematurely
