Rated 5 de 5 de par Very sturdy towel rod; nice looking I bought most of the Banbury suite and this towel rod does not disappoint! I bought it for the brushed nickel finish and so it would match other fixtures I bought. One great feature is that the rod does not twirl when you pull a towel off of it. No squeaking and no movement at all. I wouldn't know if it could withstand use by children (they are rougher with things), and I don't know how well it would help you out if you suddenly lost balance and reached out to grab it. I suppose that would depend on the wall anchors more than the product itself. I cannot comment about installation because my contractor did it. I simply love the fact it doesn't squeak or make noise.

Rated 4 de 5 de par quality product this is a good quality product. I give it 4 stars because I feel that more people would have a flawless instalation if a few tips were added to the instructions. The outside if the box makes it seem like all you need is a screwdriver and a hammer. What I actually needed was a power drill, drill bit, level, screw driver, needle nose plier, and hammer. First line up the included template using your level and tape in place. Drill into surface where template indicates. Using needle nose plier to hold wall anchor together, tap them into holes using you hammer. This will keep the plastic anchors from bending and shifting as they are pushed into your drywall and will ultimately give you a nice tight fit to the wall when done.

The towel bar style, fit and finish matches all the other components, is functional and is easy to install. Photo shows the 24" single paired with a 24" double towel bar. I chose not to use the supplied drywall anchors as they require drilling large holes (5/16ths) in close proximity. Instead, I used #6 plastic anchors (which require only a 3/16ths drilled hole) and secure the mounting plate in the anchor using #8 1-1/4" screws.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Used to be high quality... I have used Moen bathroom fixtures on a number of bathroom remodeling jobs without issues. However, the Moen Banbury towel bar recently installed is starting to rust after only 3 months. The quality of these products keeps going down every year.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Towell rack review I like the look of this item, but I do not like the allen wrench screws used with this, they strip out very easy. I would rather see the screws with the standard screwdriver slot. If this was a little stronger that would not be bad, it feels too fragile.

Rated 3 de 5 de par First and foremost, I would not recommend using the supplied plastic anchors. Instead, I used 1/8... First and foremost, I would not recommend using the supplied plastic anchors. Instead, I used 1/8 x 2 inch toggle bolts. Although you need to drill larger holes to place the toggle bolts in the wall, they are still spaced just far enough using the supplied mounting plates. Just be sure the toggle bolts are horizontal in the inside of the drywall and not on top of each other. Also, drill smaller pilot holes first before drilling the larger holes. And of course, use a quality stud finder. Before tightening completely, check the mounting plates with a level from a vertical and horizontal perspective and measure distance as they can move due to the larger holes. Do not over tighten! Just enough for the mounting plates to be snug. They will not fall off. Despite the compromise I needed to make, I am still disappointed with the overall quality and consistency of the product. I purchased 5 towel bars and 4 toilet paper holders to install in a new construction home and had issues with one towel bar and one toilet paper holder. The towel bar had a defective setscrew. The toilet paper holder had an issue with an end post. It was deformed a bit and the top part would not catch on to the mounting plate. Although Home Depot exchanged them with no issue, I was still annoying and has me thinking I made a mistake by installing these throughout a 600K new home.

Yes as long as you take precautions with your tile. The tile will need to be drilled with a good bit. Toggle bolts will need to be used if there are no studs where you are attaching the screws.

Can the bar be cut shorter?

For our use, the 24 inch bar is a bit too long, but the 18 inch bar is too short. Can the 24 inch bar be cut down with a hack saw (or another suggestion?) to the size I need?

They do make an 18 in too. If you'd like a different size you can always cut the rod but the template they provide can't be used. Not sure if it voids the warranty or not.

I think it could be done, BUT it would require extremely specialized tools. it would be cheaper to replace the glass door with a new one that came with a bar. I would not recommend it

The towel rack comes with a paper template. Simply put some double sided tape or fold it, place on the wall you want to install it on. Use a level to make sure line on template is level, then drill holes as depicted on the template. Directions are fairly simple
